Abstract : Emerging technologies have transformed the way people bully one another since they can choose from
a variety of tools to disturb others. Therefore, the definition of bullying has been expanded to the digital life.
Referred to as technobullying, electronic bullying, online bullying, or cyberbullying in various resources, this
new form involves deliberate use of ICTs through which harm or disturbance is intentionally and repeatedly
conveyed where a specific individual or group of individuals are targeted. The current overview provides a summary of quantitative and qualitative cyberbullying studies we have conducted for two years. Study 1 involved
the development of a victimization scale with Facebook users where an exploratory factor analysis revealed a
one-factor structure with high amount of explained variance. Study 2 provided the methods and procedures
to confirm the factor structure with new participants who were Facebook users as well. Study 3 investigated
the predictors of victimization in a relatively larger sample. Study 4 involved the development of the bullying
version of the victimization scale and examination of the prevalence of the problem among teacher trainees.
Study 5 examined the infl uence of awareness raising activities on perceptions regarding cyberbullying among
preservice information technology teachers.

Finally, Study 6 summarized the search for relationships between
communicator styles and cyberbullying instances among undergraduate students. All research endeavors were discussed with regard to current findings, relevant literature and implications for further research. Then, a scheme for a prospective true experimental design with regard to awareness raising on cyberbullying was presented
so that further discussions on the issue could ameliorate the methods and procedures of the planned design.
